## CENTER NUMBER 1: Place Value Sort

Flip a card. Read the number. Decide which place value is underlined in the number. Sort to the place value.

## CENTER NUMBER 2: Spin and Expand (3-, 4-, and 5-Digit Numbers)

Spin the spinner 3 times. Write the number in the boxes. Then write the number in expanded form. Record on your recording sheet.

## CENTER NUMBER 3: Spin, Build and Compare (3-, 4-, and 5-Digit Numbers)

Two players take turns spinning the spinner 3 times. The player with the greatest number wins that round and records the number at the top in his/her color.

## CENTER NUMBER 4: Least to Greatest

Flip a card. Order the numbers from least to greatest, paying close attention to the place values of each digit.

## CENTER NUMBER 5: Round to the Nearest 10 (Up to 100)

Look at the number line. Decide which numbers on the number line round to the nearest given 10.

Roll three dice, one for each digit. Round the 3-digit number to the nearest 10. Cover a space to match.

Sort the basketballs to the correct hoop.

Read a number on the board. If you round up to the nearest 10 or 100, cover the number with red. If you round down, cover the number with yellow.

For each page, there is a grade level standard attached so you know **EXACTLY** what you are covering! You can feel confident that **ALL** the standards for Second Grade are being covered!

## HOW DO I ORGANIZE THE UNITS?

I chose to store the math centers in Sterilite bins, because they don’t take up too much space. It is a tight fit, but I find that they work nicely for me. However, if you choose, you could store the centers in a larger container as well. Within the bin, each math center is stored in a gallon sized ziplock baggie. Since Unit 2 has 40 centers, I found it helpful to split up the centers into 2 bins.
