I LOVE teaching math! When I was teaching in the classroom math was my FAVORITE subject to teach. By the end of the year my students love it, too! It makes me happy when kids get excited about math and really master a concept.
Simple fractions is on our list of things to learn this coming year and I wanted to create a packet that was jammed packed with hands-on and interactive learning! I wanted to implement as many different ways of learning fractions as possible. I am THRILLED with our new Simple Fractions NO PREP packet because this little Moffatt Girls LOVES it! We are learning simple fractions in a hands-on and engaging way!
*Roll and Color a Fraction I – This interactive game allows 1 or 2 student to roll a die, and color a fraction in the column. (This page uses circles)
*Roll and Color a Fraction II – This interactive game allows 1 or 2 student to roll a die, and color a fraction in the column. (This page uses rectangles)
*Read and Color the fraction I – This page will help students read the fraction word and coloring the stated fraction of a circle.
*Read and Color the fraction II – This page will help students read the fraction word and coloring the stated fraction of a rectangle.
*Cut and Paste a Fraction I- Students cut and paste a fraction that matches the shaded parts with squares.
*Cut and Paste a Fraction II- Students cut and paste a fraction that matches the shaded parts with circles.
*Pizza Fractions – Follow the direction to make the perfect pizza. Students will add toppings onto different fractions of the pizza.
*Ice Cream Fractions – Read the recipe for the perfect ice cream cone! Color the scoops according to the recipe.
*A Piece of Pie Word Problems – Read the word problems and divide the different parts of the pie on the 9 different word problems.
*Let’s Share! Students use the color code to color the correct number of fractions for Bill and Jane’s School Supplies.
*I Understand Parts of a Group – Color the correct parts of each lunch item.
*Gumball Fractions I – Color the gumballs according to the color code. Cut and paste the gumballs onto the gumball machine (uses eights)

*Colorful Gumball Fractions – Students will pick three different colors to color the set of gumballs. Next, students record their fractions with the correct numerator and denominator.
*Coloring Fractions – Students color the fraction according to the directions. Next, students record the colored parts of the fraction AND the fraction that is not colored.
*Spin and Color a Fraction I – This FUN and interactive page allows students to make a spinner with a pencil and paperclip. They will spin the spinner and color a fraction to match their spin. (uses 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4)
*Spin and Color a Fraction II – This FUN and interactive page allows students to make a spinner with a pencil and paperclip. They will spin the spinner and color a fraction to match their spin. (uses 2/4, 2/3 and 2/5)
*Fraction Word Problems I – Students read the word problems and draw to match.
*Fraction Word Problems II – Students read the word problems and draw to match.
*Ten Frame Fractions I – Students look at the written fraction and color the ten frame to match.
*Ten Frame Fractions II – This page requires students to read the fraction word, write the numerator and color the ten frame to match.
*Base Ten Fractions I – Look at each fraction and color the base ten rod to match.
*Base Ten Fractions II – This page requires students to read the fraction word, write the numerator and color the base ten rod to match.
*Domino Fractions I – Look at the domino and read the fraction. Color the circles to show the fraction in each domino.
*Roll and Draw a Fraction – Roll two dice. Place the smaller number on top (numerator) and the larger number (denominator). Divide and color the circles to show your fraction.
*Color and Compare Like Fractions I- Color each circle to match the written fraction. Compare the fractions with a <, >, or = sign.
*Color and Compare Like Fractions II- Color each circle to match the written fraction. Compare the fractions with a <, >, or = sign.
*Color by Fraction – This FUN coloring page allows students to read the written fraction and use the color code to color the correct shaded fraction in the picture!
