By 3rd Grade, students are required to fluently add and subtract within 1,000 with and without regrouping. By applying a variety of grade-level addition and subtraction strategies, students develop greater accuracy and confidence. Through a variety of strategies, students learn that numbers can be adjusted to compute more efficiently. In Unit 2 of Math Made Fun for 3rd Grade, students apply place value strategies from Unit 1 and other strategies previously taught with larger numbers.
