I absolutely LOVE to make reading fun, interactive and engaging! Learning how to read can be such an exciting time for children as their confidence and fluency grow. When students are engaged in the learning process, interacting in a hands-on way and having FUN….learning IS at its BEST!
I am THRILLED beyond words at our newest Word Work packets! I have a little girl who wants to do them every single day and that makes my teacher heart happy! Working with words is such an important component to reading success…so why not make it FUN?
I wanted to pack in as much word work as I could onto one page, so I included the following:
1. Coloring the correct words in the boxes. This simple task requires students to read each word and identify the words that correspond to the word family, long vowel or blend. The words are in different fonts so students can practice reading and identifying words in variety of printed and published styles. Perfect for kids who love to color 🙂
2. Spin the spinner, read the word and write the word on the lines. Word Work becomes a fun, interactive GAME! Plus…a little handwriting practice doesn’t hurt 🙂
3. Use the Word Bank to box up those words! With a little detective work, students will use the shapes of the boxes to help them figure out which word fits into each group of boxes. This is the perfect challenge to help reinforce spelling patterns and keep learning FUN!
I already released a few of the packets… and I just finished The BUNDLE!
