I love to make hands-on , FUN and effective sight word activities because they are such an important component to learning how to read. Once a child gets a few sight words under his/her belt, they can read simple sentences and focus on decoding words.
I have an emerging reader and I wanted to create a sight word packet that would focus on one sight word at a time with a ton of different activities to help master the sight word. Our new Sight Word Super Stars packets does just that! They require NO PREP, which makes it easy for me to just print a page that we need.
Save BIG with the BUNDLES
Sight Words Included in this packet:
a, and, away, big, blue, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help, here, I, in, is, it, jump, little, look, make, me, my, not, one, play, red, run, said, see, the, three, to, two, up, we, where, yellow and you.
Each page in the Sight Word Super Stars packet focuses on the following activities:
1. Find and Circle it – Students find and circle the given sight word within a group of words that incorporate different of fonts. This activity allows students to read sight words in a variety of printed and published styles.
2. Trace it – The trace it part will work on proper letter formation, good penmanship and spelling the sight word.
3. Color it – The Color it portion is perfect for reading and recognizing color words by coloring according to the code.
4. Highlight it – Grab a highlighter (or crayon) and let students find the specified sight word in a group of 12 sight words.
5. Put it in a Sentence – This is probably my favorite part of the page, because it allows students to use the sight word in context. There are two simple sentences where students will write the sight word and read the sentence with the sight word. All of the sentences are designed with beginning readers in mind and mostly include sight words and easily decodable words.
6. Box it Up – Students will box up the word two times. One box is traceable and the other is blank so kids can spell out the word.
7. Build it – It is always fun when kids get to use scissors and glue! At the bottom of the page there are mixed up letter tiles to build the sight word. Students will cut and paste these letter tiles to correctly build the given sight word.

You're amazing <3
are these to be used in addition to Ready2Read? I'm confused 🙂
Hi Lisa,
It is entirely up to you 🙂 I like to use them for additional/supplemental support, but it is not necessary. Ready2Read is a stand alone reading program. I hope that helps!
Annie 🙂
I would love to use this packet also, but have Letterland sight words that are not included. Would love to hear your response to the post above.
