I am SO excited to finally be able to post the first unit for Ready2Read Level 2! This has truly been a labor of love and I couldn’t be happier with the final product! It took me longer than I had hoped because I really wanted to create the best products I could for Level 2. Some of the products are similar to Level 1 and there are a lot of new printables for Level 2.
If you are new to the Ready2Read Program, you can see the information page for Level 1 {HERE}. Level 1 prepares children for Level 2.
You can also check out the information page for Level 2 {HERE}.

41 pages to download in Unit 1
We started off the unit with our Color-by-Number sight words, which will be laminated and put into our pocket chart…
We LOVE singing, so we continue to sing our sight words to the tune of BINGO, which really makes them stick. I like using the magnets on the back of the words so we can use them with our cookie sheet or anything else that is magnetic. Audrey really enjoys moving them around and putting them in the right spots. Hands-on…love it!
The bunch of balloons may look small now, but watch it grow each week as we add more and more sight words. I just used some yarn that I had on hand to make the string, but I also think some curly ribbon would look cute.
Squeezing those glue bottles really helps build up hand muscles for fine motor skills such as writing!
We use these to work with blends and digraphs too…
NEW: Roll A Word Family! HUGE-HUGE hit! In the download I described 3 ways to use this game board. I was AMAZED at how much her fluency improved each time we played the game(s). She LOVES this game and asked to play again:)
NEW: Sight Word Graphing- LOVE this one!
This is part of our Ready2Read Program, which is incorporated into each unit or they can be purchased individually on our
Teachers Pay Teachers Store!
NEW: Tic-Tac-ash family AND Tic-Tac-ack family game boards…
F-U-N! I think she really likes playing this game because she usually wins;)
Tic-Tac-Ack
She beat me AGAIN:)

Love it! Will you offer them as one bundle or will we always have to purchase them separately?
Hi Jenny,
Thank you Jenny! I will bundle them by 2's, 5's and all 10 units as soon as I finish the units. I post the units as I finish them so right now only unit 1 is available:) I am hoping to have unit 2 out next Friday! Obviously, the bundles will be cheaper:)
Yeah for bundle. I look forward to it as I'm still making my way to level 1 with my daughter.
Thanks!
I jumped the gun before I knew that there would be bundles. Oh well, I am really excited to see this and it is awesome. I know my grandson will love the "Fair" theme too. I have blogged about it today. Can't wait to start level 2.
Do you plan to homeschool your children or will you send them to school? Just curious.
Hi Brandy,
Our plan is to homeschool for sure! We are loving preschool and tot school time:)
I love your sight word song! What did you use for the sight words? I see that it is magnetic, but I was unable to figure it out. Please let me know. Thanks! Do you have the song printed out already?
Thanks,
Denise

Hi Goong!
I have one more unit to complete in Level 2 and then it should be bundled for a better savings:) Several people have asked and I am trying to get it done ASAP:)
Goong,
I tried you email, but it didn't work for me:( Sorry, I hope you get this comment!
This looks great! I love how the words are reinforced over and over in different wonderfully fun ways. My daughter has started reading and doing phonics with the curriculum we are using. It's online and I think this would be a great hands-on reinforcement for her. What would be a good way to figure out where to start her at?
Good question. If your daughter is not fluid in CVC words and knows all her Pre-Primer sight words, I would start her in Level 1. Level 1 is designed to prepare a child for Level 2. I think the strong phonics foundation and sight word background allows a child to eventually read above the level. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. You can always email too:)
Wow, just found your blog and I am in LOVE! I'm your newest follower.

Where there free downloads being offered?
Very cool. Where can I get some of these?
Hi! If you click the links at the top, it will take you our Teachers Notebook shop:)
Hi, I love your program. I am tutoring a young man who is working a couple of levels behind his grade level. Do you think your program can work if it is not done on a daily basis? I am only tutoring him one day per week right now and his mom is helping by adding pieces from your program to his home school curriculum.
Thank you so much! This program has worked tremendously well and I think you asked a great question. I think there are pieces that the mom can use as a way to review what you are teaching him. I would teach the phonics rules, introduce the sight words and let mom take over with the review. The one day a week could serve as an opportunity for specific instruction. I hope that helps and I would love to know how he progresses.
Thanks for the advice Annie. So far, so good. We started with level 2 because his mom wants him to be working a little closer to his grade level. I am excited that many of the primer sight words are included in level 2.
Hi Annie,
I love the photos you have of the huge section of wall you took over in your house! I just showed Steve and I had to laugh because I took over 12 feet of wall in my house for a word wall. I absolutely love your work and will be updating our word wall with the blends you have posted. Keep up the great work!
Debbie
I absolutely love your site. My twin girls go to public school but one of them is really struggling with her reading. The other is a whiz though so it makes it hard to work with both. I think they will both gain so much from your games, etc and I won't feel like I am neglecting one!! Thank you for making my evenings easier and more FUN!!!
I just purchased Ready2Read Level 2, The Bundle, and I don't see the mini-readers like it shows on your blog. We loved the mini-readers from Level 1 and want to do more of these. Where are they? Thanks for Ready2Read!!
Hi I just purchased Ready2Read Level 2 and I don't have the mini readers. Do those have to be purchased separately. I love the mini readers!
How can i purchase the bundle and the mini reader?
I just purchased level 1 and when I download I just get a bunch of jibberish.
