Did you know that February is National Bird Feeding Month? I have posted about our bird feeder before, and I wanted to share them again because they are so EASY and FUN to make! When I was a Brownie (a long time ago) we made these bird feeders and I always had found memories of this craft. Now I am able to share this with my girls!
All you need is…
*toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls cut in half
*Organic sugar free peanut butter (if kids have allergies you can also you almond butter)
*birdseed
*butter knife, plastic knife or plastic spoon for spreading the peanut butter
*and of course a few cute participants 🙂
Directions:
Just spread the peanut butter onto the toilet paper roll and roll in birdseed. Hang on a nearby branch and watch those hungry little customers come and fill their little bellies!
This is such a GREAT activity for kids to observe and talk about birds. Each and every time we make our bird feeder, the girls and the birds are HAPPY!
This is not the best picture, but if you look closely, you can see our first little customer gobbling up his lunch!
