Back again, and this time with the 3rd Grade Grammar Verbs Part 2 packet, the third of 23 packets in the 3rd Grade Grammar Growing Bundle.
I started this bundle with the basic parts of speech. After your students have learned about verbs, they are ready to learn about the actions that nouns perform. In the third grade NO PREP Verbs Part 1 Packet, students will learn about the differences between the action verbs, linking verbs and helping verbs. In Part 2, they will learn about verb tenses and identifying common irregular verbs.
The third grade marks a significant milestone, where students put into practice the fundamental grammar skills they’ve previously acquired while delving into more intricate grammar concepts. To support students in this fresh phase of learning, it’s crucial to offer numerous opportunities for them to actively engage in hands-on grammar activities and employ effective strategies with the 3rd Grade NO PREP Grammar Bundle!
What is included in each packet?
Each NO PREP Packet incorporates 6 key components:
Part 1: Posters
Use the posters as an anchor chart as you introduce each new grammar skill. Students can refer back to the poster as a visual and instructional reminder. These anchor charts serve as a helpful reference, reinforcing lessons and promoting independent learning.
Part 2: Lesson Plans
Each grammar skill packet includes 3 sets of easy-to-follow, scripted mini-lessons. No need to prep, just print and teach! Each set of lesson plans include the following:
- Objective
- Introduction of grammar skill
- Mini-lesson on the specific grammar skill with examples
- Let’s Practice
- Let’s Review
- Resources/Materials you will use to from the NO PREP Packet
Part 3: Grammar Worksheets
Worksheets are a great way to help students practice targeted grammar skills. These pages can be used for seat work, extra practice, homework, morning work, early finishers, small group or independent practice. Best of all, grammar worksheets require NO PREP and are easy to squeeze some grammar instruction into your busy day! There are a total of 9 NO PREP practice pages in each packet.
Part 4: Grammar Games
Grammar Game pages are a FUN and effective way to review grammar skills. You can add these NO PREP grammar game pages to your literacy centers for students to practice with a partner. Print on colored card stock and laminate for durability. These games can be used as a review throughout the year.
Part 5: Quizzes
Each concept taught within each packet includes a quiz. These quizzes can be used as an informal or formal assessment.
Part 6: Flip Books
Students will love creating their own Flip Book for each grammar skill! Once created and filled in, students have a reference tool that can refer to again and again.
