CVC Build-a-Word Mats and a GIVEAWAY!

I wanted to make some CVC mats for Sophia, even thought she is not ready for them yet. I know she will enjoy these when we start them in the fall. This printable works with 88 CVC words!
This product because it meets the needs of 2 levels of learners and it is linked to many Common Core Standards.
Option 1 – Students who know their sounds, but are still not fully able to blend the sounds together can use the mats (with picture and word cards) to build a word with one-to-one correspondence. In the above picture, you can see the picture of a bed with the word spelled out. Beginning students can match the letters to the correct boxes and eventually sound out the phonemes and blend the CVC word.
Option 2– This option is perfect for students who are working on sounding out each individual phoneme and then blending the CVC word. The picture clue is provided without the word and can be a great way to assess a student’s needs, weaknesses and strengths.
