The new year calls for new fun, and the Kindergarten January Morning Bins are sure to bring just that! They have just been added to the Kindergarten Morning Bin Bundle!
NOTE: Many teachers are choosing to use these as early finisher tubs or during a different part of the day. Generic labels have been included for this purpose.

Let’s take a look at each of the Kindergarten January Morning Bins in action! There is no right or wrong way to use these morning bins! In fact, they can be used any time of the day! For example, you can place all 21 bins out each month and have students work on an individual bin, or you can bring one bin out each day. However, I like the idea of allowing a table group of 4-6 students to work on one bin at a time. This allows them to socialize, work as partners, and learn from one another.
To make things easy for you, each bin has simplified direction cards and a material list.
Morning Bin #1: Rhyming
Students will find and clip the words that rhyme with the word that is in the middle of the wheel.
Morning Bin #2: Segment & Blend
Students will identify the letter that changes for each new word, working from the bottom of the ladder to the top.
Morning Bin #3: Identify
Students will read the word family word and identify which word family the word belongs to. Then they will cover by the color code.
Morning Bin #4: Sounds
Students will identify the vowel for each word and read the word.
Morning Bin #5: Syllables/Compound Words
Students will say the individual words and identify the compound word that matches.
Morning Bin #6: Sequence
Students will place the images in order. Then they will follow the steps to draw the picture.
Morning Bin #7: Vocabulary
Students will look at the picture and word. Students will match the letters and word to the picture.
Morning Bin #8: Letter Formation
Students will identify the vowel in the word and write the word neatly on the lines.
Morning Bin #9: Extra Practice
Students will decide if the vehicle is facing left or right and sort it to the mat.
Morning Bin #10: Patterns
Students will use wooden pattern/shape blocks to continue the pattern.
Morning Bin #11: Count/Sequence
Students will identify and write the missing numbers on the 50 chart.
Morning Bin #12: Making and Counting Groups
Students will roll 2 dice, add them together and cover the sum on the board.
Morning Bin #13: Compare and Measure
Students will flip a card, count out items to match the number, and divide the items into 2 equal groups.
Morning Bin #14: Shapes
Students will use pattern/shape blocks to make the picture. Then they will count how many shapes they used.
Morning Bin #15: Sorting
Sort the items to the correct season.
Morning Bin #16: Numeral Identification
Students will flip a card and cover the number on the hundred chart. They will continue until the mystery letter is revealed.
Morning Bin #17: Base Ten
Students will build the numbers using base ten rods.
Morning Bin #18: Math Printing
Students will use a push pin to form the shapes.
Morning Bin #19: Add and Subtract
Students will count cubes to show the first number, spin the spinner and add that many cubes to complete the equation.
Morning Bin #20: Motor Skills
Students will trace the lines from left to right using their finger, a dry erase marker or items.
Morning Bin #21: Social/Emotional
Students will put the pictures in order. Then they will tell what is happening in each picture.
