I love teaching sight words because I LOVE finding new ways to make sight words FUN! Don’t get me wrong, I am totally a phonics girl too. However, teaching sight words is a very important component to any reading program. We combine phonics and sight words in our Ready2Read program.
I have found a SUPER FUN way to teach sight words and I am SO, SO excited about it!! I made some sight word watches for all the Pre-Primer and Primer Dolch Sight Words! Kids color their sight words on their watch, cut out their and wear the watch! They are sure to remember their specific sight word for the day!
When I gave the girls these sight word watches to color and decorate…they went NUTS! They wore them and walked around the house reading their sight words!! Even my 2 year old worked on the sight word the.

These are adorable! What a creative idea.
Thanks so much Katie:)
In my cart now! I love them! So smart and so cute. Thanks, Annie!
Aww…thanks Mrs. Parker! That means a lot coming from such an awesome blogging buddy!
I'm literally obsessed!
These are great Annie – what a novel way to keep sight words interesting!
Love it!

So original and a fun way to learn sight words. Thank you Annie. They are printing right now!
Yay! I am so glad you ladies like them:) It makes me super happy!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have an extremely low class of 1st graders this year. The watches worked so well today. We use the Scott Foresmann reading series. It contains some words that are not included in the pack. Is there any way to get a blank watch pattern so I can add the other words?

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your kind words Jennifer! The Terms of Use for the clipart that I use does not allow me to create blank watches as a template. I wish I could! I am so sorry:(
What a great idea.My class would love these!
