Printable Refrigerator Magnets

After our recent trip to the zoo Sophia has become even more enamored with animals and their sounds, so I decided to make some farm animal (and fruit) printables for our refrigerator. Of course you could also use the dishwasher and cookie sheet too! These are great for my 16 month old, but have also been adapted for my 3 1/2 year old since I included words to match the pictures. In fact, Audrey spent more time with the magnets and had loads of fun sorting the animals (big/small, 4 legs/2 legs, in the house/in the barn). Audrey knew some of the shorter words and we worked on initial sounds for the longer words, like strawberries.
Cost of making these magnets:
Printing $0.10
laminating $0.10,
18 magnets $0.54
Total Cost: $0.74 Now that is in my budget! 🙂

I can see so many ways to use this! I'm new to all of this…started "tot school" with my 2-1/2 yr-old a couple weeks ago…and as an ex-educator (albeit to middle & high school kids) I get so excited about all the great ideas I'm finding from other moms like you. Do you have one of those little laminators at home, or did you get the pictures laminated somewhere? Just wondering what the most economical option is.
This is great. I love the idea of using the cookie sheet. We have a stainless steel fridge and it's not magnetic.

Moosevine we are also doing tot school and love it!! I just added the laminator that we use on my sidebar (favorite tools). I actually bought mine at Target, but I have found better prices on amazon. Also, I have searched high and low for the best price on the laminating pouches and the link I posted it best by FAR! You get 100 for $10-$12, which works out to 10-12 cents each!!! The teacher supply stores are great when you want to laminate large items, but for everyday sheets this is the most economical method. Thanks for stopping by!

These are fantastic! I love the portability of the cookie sheets, we love to use those around the house for our little magnet projects.

Hope you see this. I know the original post was in January! Where do you get the magnets, are they the kind on the roll or in whole sheets with the adhesive on the back? Really like this idea,and can't wait to try it!!
