We are having such fun with our toddler tasks and Sophia really enjoys doing “school”. Here are some of the activities that we did this week…
(Sophia 2 1/2 years old)
Letter Identification and Letter Formation:
We started by dot painting letters. I just drew an outline of some letters and let her “decorate” them. She was really proud of her work and wanted Daddy to see what she did for “school.”
Fine Motor Skills:
We really enjoyed our Easter Fun Preschool printable pack.
We did a little cutting….
Color Identification and Object Discrimination (finding the difference):

We played several games this week, but The Sneaky Squirrel was one of her favorites! I like the squirrel “tongs” that come with the game because they really help to build up those fine motor skills as she pinches them together to grab a colored acorn.

Patterns:
Worked on patterns a little…
Painting:
Since we released 1,500 ladybugs this week, we decided to paint a ladybug on the art easel. I drew a ladybug with upper and lower case letters. The uppercase letters were supposed to be red, but I had to change it to yellow since we ran out of red paint. Flexibility:)
She added a few more colors and this was the final master piece!
Finger Print Painting:
I LOVE these finger ink paints and so do the girls. I picked these up at Lakeshore along with a cute book that helps you create fingerprint animals and scenes.
This is a VERY bad drawing of a tree (by me) and cutely decorated by Sophia:)
Color Matching and Color Discrimination:
I used markers to draw color coded circles on a paper. Sophia used her paint set to match the colors, which also included light and dark.
Drawing:
I taped a piece of paper to the floor and let her draw a picture. In case you can’t tell, this is a picture of our family and Daddy’s name:)
That wraps up this week of Toddler Tasks! This post goes to show you that you can do so many activities without spending a lot of money or printing off a ton of pages….although I like printing pages:)

Great ideas. I just love doing the toddler/preschool stuff. My Sweet Pea always wants to save stuff for mommy to see. Her bedroom is covered in papers she has colored or painted…so fun. Sadly…next year we will kick it up a notch so we will say bye bye to toddler activities, but it is just another fun step in learning. Great post.

The Sneaky Squirrel game came from Educational Insights. If you click on the name (link) it will take you to their site, but I think you can purchase it at other places as well (amazon, kids stores etc.)
What a great post! Thanks for sharing all your fabulous ideas. It's always nice to see someone else's ideas for this age. I hit a wall sometimes and forget to keep things fresh!
