These age appropriate Preschool/ Pre-K Morning Bins are a great way to incorporate literacy, math, fine motor skills, and tons of PLAY into your morning routine! Let’s take a look at each April Preschool Morning Bins in action!
Morning Bin #1: Rhyming and Syllables
Students roll a die, say the word and say a word that rhymes.
Morning Bin #2: Sounds
Students roll a die, say the letter sound and say a word that begins with that sound.
Morning Bin #3: Letters
Students will match the uppercase bird to the lowercase nest.
Morning Bin #4: Sequence
Students will sequence the pictures and use them to tell a story.
Morning Bin #5: Letter Printing
Students will write the uppercase letter that matches the lowercase letter.
Morning Bin #6: Sorting by Concept/Vocabulary
Students will decide if the animal is a bird, mammal or fish.
Morning Bin #7: Finding Details
Students will find each animal 3 times and then check off the animal.
Morning Bin #8: Name
Students will sort the letters of their name, color animal pieces and cut them out to make an animal.
Morning Bin #9: Patterns
Students will look at the shape pattern, trace the shapes and draw the next two shapes.
Morning Bin #10: Count Sequence
Students will count and put the numbers in order from 1 to 10.
Morning Bin #11: Making and Counting Groups
Students will read the number and use snap cubes to build a tower to match the number.
Morning Bin #12: Shapes
Students will spin the spinner and find and trace the shape on the board.
Morning Bin #13: Measurement
Students will look at 2 items and decide which one is heavier.
Morning Bin #14: Colors
Students will use play dough to build the word and the two items on the mat.
Morning Bin #15: Numerals
Students will count the animals and trace the number that matches.
Morning Bin #16: Comparing
Students will count the items and make an equal group on the other side.
Morning Bin #17: Life Skills
Students will decide if the food item is protein, grains, fruit or dairy.
Morning Bin #18: Social Emotional
Students will look at the face, name the emotion and make the same face while looking in a mirror.
Morning Bin #19: Fine Motor
Students will “feed the pet” by transferring pom-poms to the dish.
Morning Bin #20: Dramatic Play
Students will use their imaginations and the items to pretend that they are a pet owner or veterinarian at a pet clinic. I get so excited every time I finish a dramatic play center. Add stuffed animals to this one for some fun!
*This is an open-ended play activity. The offered materials can be set up in a variety of ways.
