Finally! I am finally releasing Ready2Read Level 3! This level has taken me a very long time to put together. In fact, I have been working on this level since BEFORE summer started. I am so pleased with every single printable in these units! This is by far the most comprehensive level yet!!
Warning: This is a MASSIVE document full of fun leaning! There are over 70 pages in each unit! Each printable in Level 3 has been aligned to the Common Core Standards in the area of Reading Foundational Skills for first grade. This level is full of FUN, FUN, FUN! I could not be happier with the final result and I am thrilled to finally launch Level 3!!
Here is a list of some of the most commonly asked questions:
What will Level 3 cover?
Since Ready2Read Level 3 is a sequential reading program that combines both phonics and sight words, these units will continue to focus on a combination of these two components. The units will include:
* 1st Grade Sight Words from the Dolch list (41 words)
* More complex word families
* Long Vowels
What is the theme of level 3?
An ocean theme!
What is the recommended age level for Level 3?
Although Level 3 is designed to meet the Common Core Standards for 1st Grade, this level may be appropriate for many different ages. Some students may be ready to master the units in Level 3 at the beginning of 1st Grade and some students will benefit from these materials at a later date or even earlier. Age is not so much the factor, but rather the student’s ability to move forward and master the materials.
**Since Ready2Read is a sequential reading program, it is highly recommended that students work through Levels 1 and 2 before starting Level 3.
How many units will be included in Level 3?
There will be a total of 10 units in this level, which will cover 41 new sight words and 20 new word families.
How long will it take to get through each unit?
Since there are so many pages in each unit (70 pages), you can stretch these units out into the amount of time necessary for mastery. It really is important that students do not move forward to the next unit until the previous one has been mastered. Mastery is key.
Each unit will include detailed lesson plans based on a week of learning. However, these units do not need to be finished within a week. Some students may need 2 weeks to fully absorb and master the material! That is perfectly fine. Please do not feel that you need to use every single printable from each unit. If you or your students do not particularity like a specific printable, feel free to not use that piece of the program. There are many other options that will fulfill the Common Core Standards in that specific area.
What materials will I need to get started with Level 3?
Ready2Read Level 3 is FULL of FUN and I could not be more excited about it! There are many more black and white printables in level 3 and a bit less prep. You will need the following materials for Level 3:
*A laminator– I picked up my laminator at Target for less than $30 and it has worked like a charm. I have laminated hundreds of pages (if not thousands!) over the last 3 years and it has never given me any problems. There are a lot of laminators on the market and I think they are all pretty comparable.
*Lamination pouches- I usually get mine on Amazon {HERE}, but I hear that Sam’s Club offers a great price too.
*Dry erase markers
*A good pair of scissors. I like Fiskers for kids.
*A pair of dice
* Small magnifying glass
* Set of alphabet stamps
* Crayons
** Students who want to have fun learning how to read!

I have a friend who is homeschooling her children and I knew she just had to see your blog! I've sent her your link and I made sure to tell her about your toddler tasks (which I see being great weekend activities for myself and my daughter once I get school off the ground in my classroom) as she has 2 other little ones. I think you do beautiful work in your creations. Great job!

Hi Annie, Thank you so much for all the amazing products! My kids love them. I have just purchased ready2read 1, 2 and 3 and I am wondering if you have a 1-2 page overview for the levels or do I need to check each level to see what is included. (I am trying to make yearly overviews.) Thanks so much for all the effort you put into your work to make it easier for us.

Thank you for all of your amazing products. My kiddos have finished level 1 and 2 and are on level 3 now. I am wondering if you are planning on making a unit 4 for Grade 2 sight words and if you are, do you have a rough idea of when they possibly may be available? Thank you for helping us so much!
