Our Ready2Read programs are progressing nicely and I am pleased to see how much Audrey has grown!  Her reading foundation is getting stronger and stronger as we move forward with each unit.

Once again we started the unit with our color-by-number flashcards…

We had tons of fun decorating the sight words this week!  We used glitter, jewels, and stickers:)  There are so many creative ways to make learning fun and interactive.

Audrey colored her Word Family Coloring Page…a soccer ball!

The Color-by-Sight Word coloring page was also a huge hit!  This has really proven to be a great resource for reinforcing sight word recognition.

Read it, Trace it, Paste it pages..  This week we used the bingo markers, which made it lots of FUN!

Once again Audrey worked on her CVC boxes.  We did not use the tiles even though I included them in the PDF.  She really likes to sound out the letters and write them in the boxes.

The Word Family Sort is always fun.  This week we worked with TRAINS!!  I must say, Sophia (21 months) was completely intrigued!!  Audrey said that this was her favorite activity:)

The CVC picture match proved to be a neat opportunity to expand her vocabulary.  For example, some of the printables identify the word tap as tap dancing.  However, in this activity the word tap refers to a faucet or spicket.

  2. Thank you so much for having these as a free download. These are going to come in handy when I start my second year of Pre-K this August. I've never seen anything that teaches sight words in Pre-K and I couldn't be more excited! Thank you so much!

  3. We are loving the R2R program! My 4 y/o is doing really well with it – although it is taking us longer than a week as we seem to be taking a week off every other week 🙁

    I have tried twice to get to the download for Unit 5 and each time I'm getting virus warnings so I haven't been able to get it. Thought you might want a heads up.

  4. thanks for unit 5! i also had a virus warning the first time i tried to download but was able to download the second time. when i try to download the lesson plans it brings up unit 1 though..

  5. Aww…thanks for the heads up. I am considering changing to google docs or something else. So sorry about the wrong lesson plans…oops! I think I was tired! I just fixed it! Thank for telling me:)

  9. Love it! I am new to teaching 1st gr so I bet I will be able to use some of these and my 3 yr old knows all his alphabet letters- upper and lower case so I cant wait to do these with him in a few months 🙂
